Life; thank you.

Appreciation. What a big word. Almost overwhelming on its own. The blue days are many and the brighter ones are even more, but we tend to deny them.

Today I woke up. Had some coffee, put on my clothes and watched Ellen Degeneres show while eating my bowl of cereal. I had rolled up the curtains and to my lovely surprise the dark winter mornings had today turned into a day of sunlight. As I stood there in my living room floor with a cup of coffee in my hand and watched a random man throwing some garbage outside, while a woman and her dog were walking down the street and cars rolling by putting the city in motion, I couldn't help but to feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Far too many days of ingratitude have passed by and it's time for a change.

If I don't say it enough, life I appreciate you.

Quotes from Sawa

This summer when I was in my homecountry, Eritrea, along with thousands of fellow eritreans from around the world, we got to visit the heart of the eritrean defence force, Sawa - the military base. And on the walls of the huge rooms where we slept, there was quotes written. So I took the liberty of writing them down.

"Everybody wants to go to heaven, but no one wants to die."

"Had there been no departure, acquaintance could have been the best."

"Close your eyes to pity."

"The world is a dangerous place to live in, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who watch it and let it happen."

"Optimists look forward to the future."

"Absence make the heart grow fonder."

"All that glitters is not gold."

"A useless life is an early death."

"The talent of success is nothing more than doing."

"There is no darkness but ignorance."

"Failing to plan is planning to fail."

"To never make a decision is never to make a mistake. Not to decide is to decide."

"Every closed eye is not asleep."

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

"Do what you can with what you have wherever you are."

Green Island

Sound of the ocean. A soothing feeling, almost theraputic. Sitting by the shore everything suddenly feels perfect. Old school music in the background, a bonfire, tropical weather and summertime. What more can you ask for.

Waves of the water feels like new energy pumping the veins in my body. For the first time in a long time, I feel as free and possibly happy as the white birds soaring over my head.
There is something special about the ocean. The open water can make you feel both scared yet curious, happy and hopeful, but most importantly it has limited boundaries, a tremendous range making you feel like you can do anything and everything. The ocean has no limits, as far as the eye can see. Just like the human being knows itself from the inside out.

The mightiness, the powerfulness and the beautiness. The ocean teaches the control of power, mood and diversity. The amount of power the ocean holds is unimaginable to the human mind. In one day, it can wipe out the entire mankind. The ocean shifts in moods. It can be calm in the morning, then slowly but surely shift into a more agressive tone and rythm. Then it is also vastly diversified, but keeps it under the surface. The amount of different creatures it holds, probably more than the human being has ever seen itself.

The ocean, largely sized or not, should be respected. For it is more powerful than man ever will be. Instead of being fearful we should turn fear of the unknown into a lesson learned everyday. Instead of pushing it away, embrace the huge richness it bares.
The ocean has created many wars and unecessary conflicts between countries all over the world. Access to the ocean is seen as a huge asset, rightfully so due to the many wonders it keeps and keys to unlock closed or semi-closed doors.

The ocean is and forever will remain a mystery to those who choose to not get acquainted with it, and a lovely riddle to solve and draw inspiration from for those who do.

Higher

My inner eye lids covered with the face of the sky.
Everytime I close them it's like I'm floating on clouds.
Invinsible, out of reach, soaring, flying.
I see a bird somewhat below me.
Wings all spread out flying in a circle, back and forth back and forth.
Seems like its got all the time in the world to just fly around and be.
I hop from one cloud to another.
The skies are ridiculously blue and the boundariers surprusingly few, none.

That's when I realized - I am the queen of my own kingdom and no one but I can set myself free.

I've got me

You are who you are and who you are is who you've got. I've got me, period.

Too many people worry about too many problems that's not even their own, they make it their's. It is so hard for people to mind their own business so they stick their nose into other peoples business.

In a world surrounded by a universe that's big and never ending, it's time to focus on what's actually going on right in front of you. Why go searching for issues when issues is part of life, everyones, meaning we've all got ours.

There's a time and a place for everything, just hold on and your time will come.
