The Element of Freedom
"And the day came when the risk it took to remain tightly closed in the bud, was more painful than the risk it took to bloom. This is the element of freedom."
- Basically what Miss Keys is saying is that, in order to live without regrets we need to dare and be courageous. To do what you heart tells you and not entirely follow what others tell you. Just because you’re walking a different path doesn’t mean you’re lost, you just have a different mindset and way of doing things. For if we never take chances in life, we stop to evolve into the beautiful creatures we could be. The day you lose sight of your dreams is the day you lose sight of who you are. Freedom in this sense means everything.

Caged Bird
“That’s why I say that I know why the caged bird sings; only joy comes from song.”
- To whom do we owe that much that we have to submit our own will and freedom? Why should we stay quiet, why shouldn't you and I make our voices heard? In a world filled with constant change and trebulations, words become priceless. Though the non-spoken language has equal effect, stating your opinion and thoughts help in bringing forth a new perspective to the world we live in. Man was created not only to breed, but also to think. In the words of Descartes' "I think, therefore I am".
However, do so in the right manner - do whatever you want as long as you're not hurting yourself or anyone else. Never forget the power of words. Sure they say actions speak louder than words, but words is what we communicate with the most. Words mean anything and everything. Choose your words wisely. Learn to cherish and value each word as if it was the last time you spoke, and you will see the difference it makes in the message delivered.
